CSE Industrial Electrical Distributors backing new ABB HVAC Drives

CSE is now stocking the new ABB ACH550 range of ABB Inverter Drives. The new range provides a quantum leap for customers in terms of ease of installation, start up and on going use. These were key development requirements following extensive research by ABB into the requirements of the building services industry.

The 0.75 to 355 Kilowatts ABB AC drives which come in both IP21 and IP54 specification are intuitive, simple to set up and include a full complement of features. The Drives are dedicated to pump and fan applications with new software making them the simplest to operate in the building services market.

The new terminal chamber makes light work of cable termination whilst the keypad gives full user information with start up assistance, commission, maintenance and ongoing diagnostics. The keypad which is similar in use to a mobile phone makes the drives simple to operate, and comes pre-set to an HVAC macro, but there is an additional 13 macros for all common building services applications each selected at a touch of a button.

The building services issue of harmonics where adding non-linear loads such as inverter drives and other electronic equipment produce and add to the harmonic problem is overcome with new choke technology. This technology reduces mains pollution by 25%, the lowest harmonics of any standard drive.

Tony Harris, CSE’s Technical Director said “ABB’s drives were always there or thereabouts with their previous HVAC Drive range, but the ACH550 range takes the market to a new level and are sure to become the HVAC drive of preference for our customers”. Tony who went to ABB Finland to help with the drive research added “they have listened to our feedback and that of our customers and have made it the simplest and most functional, versatile and cost effective drive available on the market”.

John Le Grys, CSE’s Managing Director added “we have seen consistent growth in the HVAC market due to environmental and economic concerns and the ABB ACH550 drive is sure to help continue that growth”.

Back in 2002, CSE were appointed as a preferred ABB AC Drive HVAC applications distributor and the partnership has developed strongly in both technical and sales and marketing areas. Nick Thorne, National Sales Manager of ABB commented “CSE were consulted as part of the development process of the new ABB ACH550 and provided valuable feedback from customers”.

CSE has posted full information of the new drive on their web site – http://www.cse-distributors.co.uk/abbdrives/ and is gearing up for the launch of the first ever ABB Drive Building Services brochure later this summer.
