Insulation: Extruded layer of cross linked polyethylene
Insulation Screen: extruded layer of cross linked semi-conducting
polyethylene, fully bonded to the insulation.
The three layers, conductors screen, insulation and insulation screen is
extruded on to the conductor in a single pass, triple extrusion process. Dry
gas (nitrogen) is used for curing.
Concentric conductor: The concentric conductor (metallic screen) is
made up of round copper wires that are wound helically over the insulation
screen.
Water blocking elements: Aluminium foils is applied longitudinal and
bend around the cable with an overlap that is sealed with glue. The
aluminium layer is electrically connected to the copper wire screen. Between
the copper wire screen and the aluminium band, water swellable tape is
applied to prevent longitudinal water ingress in case of damaged outer
sheath.
Outersheath: Linear low-density polyethylene (LLDPE). |
